US Embassy events - July 2009

The US Embassy Sana`a held a month long mega fundraiser event in aid of
Yemen Smile in June 2009. Several local and expat donors came
forward to support the event.
On the 11th July an Art Exhibition was held at the embassy
residence garden where Yemeni Art was displayed.
Another function was held the following week on the 15th July at
the US Residence.

HE Stephen A Seche,
US Ambassador to Yemen, shared
his embassy`s commitment to help Yemen Smile charity programmes for
cleft lip and palate patients.

In a short speech, Dr Bona, Medical
Director of Yemen Smile, thanked the Embassy and donors for the
support and explained the work of the charity.
A check for
thirty seven thousand US dollars was presented to Yemen Smile by the
Embassy. Donors were:

- Aden Christchurch and Mokka plastic surgery camp
- Mukalla Ibn Sina Teaching Hospital plastic
surgery camp
- Sana`a Hadda Hospital cleft lip and plate camp
for ADRA patients (Hais/Hodeidah)
- Al Mahra plastic surgery camp
Yemen Smile thanks the US Embassy, Sana`a and all
the generous donors for this act of love and kindness towards the
cleft population of Yemen.
